Role overview:
We are seeking a Product Engineering Manager to guide our cross-functional engineering team and act as a vital link between technology and business. This role combines technical leadership with people management, ensuring that our teams deliver high-quality features that align with business goals.
As a key member of a quartet (together with Product, UX Design and Research, and Product Marketing leadership), you’ll ensure alignment across disciplines, protect the team’s focus, and balance business priorities with sustainable engineering practices. You’ll bring a strong business mindset - driving the team to build what truly matters, with clear vision, measurable outcomes, and lasting value.
You will report directly to the VP of Product Engineering.
What you will do:
- Business & Strategy Alignment
- Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Partner with Product, Design, and UX Research as part of the quartet to shape the roadmap and execution.
- Advocate for delivering meaningful features that contribute to business vision and measurable value.
- Translate high-level business goals into actionable team objectives.
- Leadership & People Management
- Lead, mentor, and coach engineers, focusing on growth, performance, and well-being.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture where the team feels ownership and purpose.
- Maintain team boundaries, ensuring realistic goals, sustainable pace, and clear priorities.
- Align individual development with team and company objectives and insights from the technical architects.
- Planning & Delivery
- Define and drive the team’s strategy in alignment with company goals.
- Translate product requirements into clear technical objectives and execution plans over the diverse technical competence of the team.
- Monitor delivery against KPIs to ensure timely and high-quality outcomes.
- Ensure efficient allocation of resources across projects.
- Balance hands-on involvement with high-level coordination.
- Technology & Quality Oversight
- Evaluate and introduce the right tools, frameworks, and technologies to support scalability and innovation.
- Ensure system reliability, performance, and adherence to best practices.
- Manage vendor and partner relationships where external expertise is required.
- Process & Continuous Improvement
- Drive improvements in collaboration, workflows, and productivity.
- Encourage best practices in development, testing, and delivery without micromanaging technical solutions.
- Create clarity and stability for the team by shielding them from misaligned priorities.
What you will need:
- Proven leadership of high-performing engineering teams (3-6+ engineers) working in a cross-functional team with product and design.
- Excellent at bridging business needs with technical execution.
- Experience in guiding teams with clear feedback, mentorship, and a focus on professional growth.
- Experience collaborating in a cross-functional leadership setup (Product, Design, Engineering, Architecture).
- A business-oriented mindset: focused on value delivery, vision, and impact.
- Strong communication skills both in Hungarian and English, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Good awareness of industry’s latest technology trends and applications.
- Pragmatic, empathic, and able to defend the team while keeping sight of business priorities.
